Humans of Chocolate City (HOCC), inspired by Brandon Stanton’s Humans of New York (@humansofny) is a photo project that will tell the stories of the people who make up what we once referred to as the Chocolate City, Washington, DC.
The city we know and love has fallen victim to the erasure of our historic cultural practices by the rise of gentrification and displacement. This project aims to not only tell stories of our beloved city, but to preserve them. The main focus of HOCC is assisting and uplifting the beautiful, creative, and integral people of this city because we deserve it. Click here to see their stories🤎
